What to Wear for Engagement Photos

It's the million dollar question that everyone asks, "What should I wear for my engagement photos?". It's simple really and something you should not stress over. Here are some tips to help you:

Tip #1 Be Yourself!

This is honestly the most important tip. You want your photos to capture the essence of you as a couple. Just be yourself and choose comfortable clothes. Nothing too tight or too baggy. When you're comfortable you'll be happy which will show in your photos. Also, be sure to wear comfortable shoes. A lot of times my engagement sessions require a lot of walking, climbing, and sitting. You never know I may have you climb a tree! Best thing to do is put on your outfit, look in the mirror and ask yourself, "Do I feel comfortable and am I smokin' hot?". If the answer is yes, you've got a winner.

Tip #2 Compliment each other

I'm not talking, "Hey hun you look awesome", I'm saying to compliment each other's outfits. If one decides to wear something dressy, try to dress on the same level. If you want to grunge it down, show off your tattoos or wear a tutu, just be sure your partner is on your level :-)

Tip #3 Don't be afraid of patterns or color

This is your time to shine! Be as creative as you can. Chevron patterns, plaid, polka dots, wear jewelry that you love, whatever it maybe. You don't have to wear plain colors. Choose colors that will compliment your skin tone.

Tip #4 Consider bringing props

If you won your honey's heart by serenading her with your guitar and John Mayer vocals, bring your guitar. If your favorite thing to do as a couple is go on picnics, let's have a picnic. If you two have a mutual hobby, show me. If you have a fur baby, bring him. It's always fun to incorporate personal touches to your session. Just communicate it to me and let's make it happen.

My goal is to capture you as a couple. Use these tips to guide you. Remember not to stress out about your fits. The important thing is you feel good, which will translate in your photos. Can't wait to spend time with you and your honey!
